2026 Parsons-Burnett Grant

The Parsons-Burnett Grant is for CERTIFIED employees of Arkansas public schools who are working towards a graduate degree or an additional endorsement (not including National Board Certification).

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

  1. Please review the application requirements to ensure that you are eligible for the grant for which you are applying.

  2. Narrative/Descriptive portions of the the application may be cut and pasted from a text document.

  3. Supporting documents should be uploaded with the application. Please review the application guidelines to ensure that you have all required documents.

  4. Applications must be completed by March 31.

  5. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE SCORED

REMINDER: A letter of recommendation from your principal or supervisor, on school letterhead, is required. Documentation will be uploaded later.

APPLICATION INFORMATION

Information in this section will be scored using an established rubric. Please be as clear and concise as possible in your responses.

Brief statement of your personal and professional rationale for application.

Brief statement of your financial need/rationale for application.

Brief description and example of your most innovative teaching method. Make sure links are activated. Limit uploads to 2 items.

Include volunteer/community involvement outside of work-related activities listed previously.

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION:

  1. Copy of teaching license. Can NOT be a provisional license.

  2. All undergraduate and graduate transcripts (10 points). Academic transcripts for any courses you are currently taking, but for which you do not have official transcripts, may be included to improve your GPA score, BUT they cannot be submitted in place of the required transcripts.

  3. Copies of transcripts are considered official if the institutional seal and the signature of the registrar are clearly visible and have not been altered.

  4. To request that electronic transcripts be sent directly to ARTA, call 501-375-2958 for instructions.

  5. Degree Plan: List of at least 12 semester hours of graduate education courses to be completed in the next 15-month period, or equivalent for the endorsement/certification you are pursuing.

  6. Letter of recommendation from your principal or direct supervisor, on school letterhead (10 points).
