ARTA advocates for the personal, professional, social and economic interests of all Arkansas's public education retirees by:

• Representing members at meetings where retirement and health insurance benefits* are determined;
  review of legislation concerning these benefits;

• Maintaining cooperative relationships with AARP, NRTA*
  and other organizations with mutual interests;

• Sharing information with elected officials on topics of interest to members;

• Informing and empowering members to advocate for
  their own interests.
