ARTA Grants Program

ARTA currently funds $2,000 grants for Arkansas public school employees in the following categories:
Parsons-Burnett Grant for Certified Employees
Eligibility

Applicant must be currently employed as a certified educator in an Arkansas public school.

Applicant must be working towards a specific graduate degree, endorsement or certification.

Requests for funds to pay off student debt are not eligible.

Previous applicants may reapply.

Mitchell-Fair Grant for Classified Employees
Eligibility
-
Applicant must have three (3) years current employment in an Arkansas public school.

Applicant must have at least three (3) years of service credit in the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System.

Applicant must have at least 15 credit hours in an accredited college.

Applicant must be working toward an Arkansas teaching license.

Application Process

Applications must be completed online between March 15 and June 15.

Award Process

Applications are reviewed by a committee of ARTA members using an established rubric.

The number of grants will be determined by ARTA and awarded to the highest-scoring applicants.

All applicants receive a letter regarding the status of their application.

Award checks will be presented to each recipient at a meeting within the recipient's school district.
Applications are accepted between March 15 and June 15 of each year

To date, more than $211,000 in grants have been awarded to active personnel in Arkansas's public schools.
These grants are primarily funded by donations and other contributions from ARTA members and their families.
