Local units provide opportunities for members to engage with other retirees at the community level. Most local units hold regular meetings that include refreshments, educational tours or speakers, and time to socialize or share news and information. Local units may also participate in service projects for fellow members, youth or the community at large. Individuals may join one or more local units as a way to connect with new and former colleagues with similar interests.
